Frequently asked questions

Getting Started

What does Disclosure Assist do?

It provides technical and administrative organisation of documents, emails and evidence into source-aware working material for customer or adviser review.

How do I start?

Use the estimator without sending evidence, then request a non-sensitive initial review.

Can I use only one part of the service?

Yes. Disclosure Assist is modular: indexing only, selected working outputs, broader full support or a custom scope can be confirmed separately.

Pricing

How much does the service cost?

Professional work is scoped and priced after reviewing your evidence workload. You receive the proposed scope and price before work begins.

Is the estimator a fixed quote?

No. It is an indicative workload and cost range. Initial scope is confirmed before activation, and material additional work requires approval.

What happens above 40 hours?

When the estimated high range exceeds 40 hours, automatic pricing stops and manual scope review is required.

Documents & Emails

Can I upload individual files?

In the planned authenticated production intake, supported individual files may be eligible within configured limits. The public website does not accept files.

Should I ZIP my folders?

ZIP is recommended—but not mandatory—when it helps preserve multiple files or folder structure. RAR or TAR is not required from ordinary customers.

Can I send a PST?

A PST may require encrypted physical-media intake even near or below the online threshold because preserving mailbox structure matters.

Large Evidence Sets

What if I have more than 500 MB?

Initial evidence above the configured 500 MB online threshold uses the encrypted physical-media route. Do not split one set artificially.

How are large files handled?

After activation, the customer receives case-specific media instructions. No unverified public receiving address is published.

Customer Portal

Is the portal currently live?

No. The current public site is a local prototype only. Production authentication, payment, storage and uploads require later implementation and approval.

What is the portal intended to show?

The planned portal is designed for case status, intake, Decisions & Approvals, invoices, delivery state and automated process support.

Decisions & Approvals

What are Decisions & Approvals?

They are attributable customer or adviser responses to controlled questions that Disclosure Assist cannot decide, with later changes preserved.

Is approving a new service module a case decision?

No. Commercial scope approval is separate from legal or document Decisions & Approvals. Added chargeable work requires a revised scope and customer approval.

Do you decide legal relevance or privilege?

No. Those and other legal decisions remain with the customer and/or qualified adviser.

Security

Does the public site store evidence?

No. The public site has no evidence upload or production submission backend.

How long is evidence retained?

No duration is published. Retention and deletion periods are TO BE APPROVED through legal/compliance review before production.

AI Assistant

Does the AI give legal advice?

No. The planned automated assistant is limited to portal, status, upload, invoice, workflow and technical/process guidance.

Is production AI currently connected?

No provider is currently selected or connected. Provider privacy and retention controls require review first.

Encrypted USB & Delivery

How do I receive my completed project?

The designed standard handover is an encrypted USB sent using tracked delivery after final payment.

Why is the USB password sent separately?

Separating the access detail from the physical media reduces the risk of both being exposed together.

Legal / Service Boundary

Are you solicitors?

No. Disclosure Assist is not a solicitors' firm and does not provide legal advice or representation.

Can you tell me what I legally need to disclose?

No. The service can organise supplied records and prepare working material, but legal disclosure decisions remain with the customer and/or adviser.
